“A commitment to excellence” a simple phrase or empty promise for some, but for the men and women of the aviation industry it has become a way of life. My name is Robert Bial, Executive Vice President, Berry Aviation and your 2017 Air Carrier Purchasing Conference Airline Chair. Along with Karen Cantor Riggi, Sales Director, Jamaica Bearings Group, this year’s Supplier Chair, we will be hosting the 2017 ACPC in San Diego August 26th– 29th 2017 at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina Hotel.
As you might have guessed the theme for this year’s conference is a “Commitment to Excellence”. This summer will mark my 30th year working in this great industry. An industry that can trace its heritage to the likes of the Wright Brother, Amelia Earhart, Donald Douglas, William Boeing, Howard Hughes and Juan Trippe to name a few. These pioneers had an unstoppable drive to innovate in the face of a changing world while never sacrificing their vision.
In late August “aviation pioneers” will come together once again for the premier event of our industry. Of course I am talking about you and me and the nearly 2000 other aviation professionals from around the globe that will be attending the ACPC. The breakout sessions and discussions at this year’s conference will center on our commitment to excellence and how we as an industry can adapt to an ever changing world. We will of course continue to feature our signature events such as the Airline Round Tables, Aviation Networking Forum, Meet and Greet in the Hospitality Suite, and ‘ACPC Gives Back’ charity event that have become mainstays of the conference.
I would also like to introduce you to the other members of the 2017 Airline Steering Committee, Craig Stechman, Aviation Purchasing Manager, DHL Aviation Americas, Mike Pigliacelli, Senior Manager, Component Purchasing, United Airlines, Stella Arniotis, Supervisor Materials, JetBlue Airways and Dakota Peterson, Director of Marketing, Berry Aviation. I could not have asked for a better team to work with in order to get things done!
Once again the dates of the conference are as follows, August 26th– 29th, 2017 at the beautiful Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina.
