Mike Ballou, Director of Component Services & Sales with VSE Aviation Services will be serving a one-year term as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer on the Air Carriers Purchasing Conference (ACPC) Board of Directors. As the 2025 Supplier Chair in Atlanta, GA, Mike is responsible for the oversight of all aspects of the conference, including selecting and leading a team of dedicated industry professionals who make up the ACPC Supplier Committee.
Mike has been around aviation his entire life. As a second-generation aviation professional, he began attending ACPC when he was only 8 years old. His father spent 36 years working for a commercial airline, allowing Mike to attend the conferences, as a guest, throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Mike began his professional aviation career in 2011 with Avio-Diepen (now Proponent) in Atlanta, GA. Since then, he has worked in OEM distribution and after market repair management roles.
Mike joined 1st Choice Aerospace in 2019, which shortly after became VSE Aviation. Mike handles component repair services for VSE’s Commercial MRO team, capable of supporting repair of high-flow/high-temp pneumatics, fuel accessories, electrical accessories, and avionics among others. He manages sales for several major airline customers throughout North America.
He has been an ACPC volunteer since 2016 and started working on the committee in 2019 at the Washington D.C. Conference. During this time, Mike has taken on various roles with as a coordinator on ACPC Supplier Committee and is now thrilled to have worked up to the Supplier Chair role for the 2025 ACPC.
Mike lives in Buckhead, GA with his wife, Meagan, their two daughters Avery and Emma and chocolate lab, Coco.
His favorite inspirational quote comes from a cult classic movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
When Mike is not busy working in aviation, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling. He also has a side gig playing guitar and singing in a 5-piece “all-Dads” classic rock cover band (The Steele Peach Band). His band can be seen performing at festivals and concert events around the metro Atlanta area.
