2022 ACPC VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Volunteering with the San Diego Food Bank (ACPC/2022)

Thank you for your willingness to volunteer at the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank Warehouse, located at 9850 Distribution Avenue, San Diego CA, 92121.  This email serves as formal confirmation that 30 spaces have been reserved for Alaska Airlines Inc. & the Air Carriers Purchasing to volunteer on August 27 from 12:30-2:30 pm.    Please note that Volunteers who have not signed up for the shift will not be allowed to volunteer for that shift.

Your group can sign up for the shift starting on July 28 and ending on August 20.  After this window of time expires, any of your group’s unused volunteer slots will be released to the public.  This is to ensure that we have enough volunteers to complete the tasks for that shift. 

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

Please remember, a group registration does not automatically register each group member.   Each volunteer in your group must create their own account with the San Diego Food Bank (this includes children, friends, significant others, family members, etc.). 

·         There are two steps to sign up for your shift.  After creating an account, each volunteer must then sign into their account, scroll to the date of your event, and click the green “sign up” icon.  Below are some helpful suggestions when navigating this process:

·         Volunteers who are new to Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank:      

1.        Visit http://sdfb.volunteerhub.com/account/signin and click “create an account”

2.        Create a user name and password, click next

3.        Enter join code alaicapu(join code is case sensitive), click next

4.        Fill out account information and click “next”.

5.        Scroll to the event date 8/27 and register for MIRAMAR Warehouse Volunteer Saturday Afternoon Shift 12:30-2:30 pm by clicking on the green “sign up” icon.

 ·         Volunteers with existing SDFB accounts, but new to your group: 

1.        Visit http://sdfb.volunteerhub.com/account/signin and sign in to your account

2.        Click on your name in the upper right corner of the screen, & click “enter join code”

3.        Enter join code alaicapu(join code is case sensitive).

4.        Click “join”, then click “events” at the top of the screen

5.        Scroll to the event date 8/27 and register for MIRAMAR Warehouse Volunteer Saturday Afternoon Shift 12:30-2:30  pm by clicking on the green “sign up” icon.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR EVERY VOLUNTEER TO KNOW

  • All volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes. 
  • Plan on arriving 10-15 minutes early for the shift.  Late arrivals will not be permitted to volunteer.
  • Volunteers must be 11 years old or older.  Volunteers ages 11-15 must be accompanied by an adult.  We require a ratio of 1 adult for every 4 children.
