ACPC is proud to introduce Pets for Vets® as the featured charity for the 2025 ACPC, as selected by Delta Air Lines.
Pets for Vets® is a nationwide nonprofit organization that has created a solution to two devastating problems in our country. Upon returning from service, many Veterans are experiencing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury, anxiety, and/or depression. At the same time, approximately one million shelter animals are euthanized in the US every year. Pets for Vets® rescues and trains these animals for Veterans, offering them both a second chance at life and healing together.
Pets for Vets® is a Human-Animal Bond Assisted Intervention™ with a unique program model that customizes each match to create what is known as a Super Bond®. By matching animal behavioral profiles to Veteran personality and lifestyle profiles, a Super Bond® is formed which ensures a successful, reciprocal, and enriched match. Currently, Pets for Vets® has created over 800+ matches at no cost to the Veteran.
In addition to rescuing and training animals, Pets for Vets® offers innovative programming to assist Veterans who are unable to care for live animals. Through their Therapeutic Interactive Pet ™ (TIP) program, Veterans can receive the companionship of a robotic animal to bring them comfort, engagement, and healing. This allows them to benefit from their program without the responsibility of caring for a live animal.
